How does the anti-thump work on m2-atx?

Can anyone tell me how this trigger works? Is it simply a delay? If so, for how long?

If it is simply a delay I was thinking about using it on a relay on the screen power, so that the screen comes on a few secs after the PC. That way I don't see the PC resuming from hibernation.

    Thanks

    Jamie

I'm not sure it'll have enough juice to power a relay, I'm pretty sure it's a miniscule current. but let us know if it does.

it shoudlnt' be that hard to make a timer circuit that will power on a relay after some time. you just need a capacitor, resistor and a relay. don't ask me about the values tho

I probably won't even try it now. I put a DMM on it to see when it shows 12v and its only a split second after the PC resumes from hibernation. Too fast for what I want. Oh well.

I might just live with watching the screen during hibernation. The draw back of not having it power on right away is that I would also have to wait for the reversing camera!

well, you could do this. build a delay circuit (using a resistor and capacitor), this will add a delay of r*c (u'll have to search a bit, but really it's a very simply circuit and can be done by just twisting a couple of components together surrounding a relay.

and for your reverse cam, you wire a relay to the reverse light. you then use the output of both relays to power the lcd. Voila! the reverse light will switch it on immediately otherwise the delay from the computer will.

sama, ahhhh yeah good idea! Didn't think of that. Doh.

PhilM, the anitthump seems like a delay, but a very very short one, from what I measured.
