    "AMPING UP" an AC-DC powersupply??

CAn anyone help with this, maybe... I have an old still working switchmode powersupply, but it doesn't supply enough current... the question is, how can I get more?? would rewinding the transformer, replacing the switching devices with higher current ones, changing the output diodes, and possibly the bridge rectifier on teh input achieve this?? or, is there anything I have missed????? thanx in advance... BTW, teh supply is currently able to give 5volts @ 3amps and 12volts @ 0.9amps.. I would like to increase this to around 5volts @ 6amps, and 12volts @ 3amps... thats minimum... thanx.. :P

    I don't see why it wouldn't work.

However, doing all that work, it'd probably be easier to make your own...

    Short, easy answer: No.

More complicated answer: Probably yes, but the effort would not be worth it.
