    DSATX Problem

I got my DSATX wired up but it doesnt post...It powers up then off immediately like a pulse...The thing is that I have a few wires to choose from...My headunit is one of those screens with a brain...I know I have the right power (yelow) and ground wire (black) but unsure about the remote...I used the AMP turn on wire but their is also an accessory wire (red)...I want to try it out but want to make sure that I dont fry the power supply...So any advice is much appreciated...

    Advice,
Yeah stop tapping in to wires and run the correct size dedicated wire to the power supply

are you out of your mind? you can't tap the teeny tiny little power wire from your headunit and expect it to power the dsatx w/ your system!!

the dsatx is a 220 watt max power supply don not expect it to run from these tiny cables.. if you want to test it buy a awg 4 or 6 or 8, and test it with htat.. if you don't want to do all the work try it before you pass the cable through your firewall

Do what Nomader (and everyone else) said.

Get some very short 8 AWG and wire the DSATX up at your battery (under the bonnet/in the boot). Then run a cheap 26AWG wire from the ACC signal from your wiring harness/loom out to the bonnet/boot where the DSATX is, and connect it to the ACC terminal. That will be enough to test with. Power supply wiring NEEDS to be big enough or dont bother! Signal (ACC) wiring can be very thin. Tapping wires off your headunit harness is a waste of time, and is often dangerous - especially if you are trying to pull ~200W.

thanks guys...Will test it from underneath the hood tommorow...What would be the best option for grounding...Is grounding to the battery the best bet or should I find the shortest possible point to the chassis...

GND to the chassis, not directly to the battery. Shortest path wont really matter as this is a test run. but try keep it under 1.5m (4.5ft). And make sure its a GOOD GND. IE: low resistance (<1 Ohm) from the Chassis to the end of the cable you are using.
