    Question datalux in car power

hey i purchased a datalux 10.4 " display from typhoon747. he runs an inverter, i do not (DC-DC) i was wondering if i could take the 12 volt power from the computer and use that. specs for the "wall wart" are 12 volt DC @ 1 amp output. could i just wire up a plug to the power supply and be done with it? i dont want to blow the ***** up. thanks

You could do that, or you could do like I did, and use the cigarette lighter wiring to power it. The datalux monitors are industrial, and made to be used in cars. They will operate at 13.5V nominally just like your car's electrical system will produce while running.

i'd like to use the "clean" power from the power supply, its 250 watts so power should be ample. just wanted to see what every one else was using. any one else?

He could definitely use the cigarette lighter, datalux is very aware of how 'clean' a car's electrical system is and designed the monitor with those ideas in mind.
