will this work as a converter ...

i dont want to import a psu from US. so i am looking for an alternative.

does anybody know if this will work.. i am planning to make a simple system with mini-itx mb, dvd, hard disk drive and a GPS antena.. thinking to use the system mainly for playing mp3, dvds and GPS.

That outputs 13.8v.
It doesn't output the proper voltages for a motherboard. This is completely useless for that purpose.

I suggest looking at an inverter that will convert the car's voltage to AC current. Those are common and you shouldn't have to import anything.

dc-ac is not very efficient....
some mini-itx boards have onboard dc-dc convertor...so they have 12 input..
you cant use the battery power as an input because auto power is not very clean.. i am looking for something that can regulate the power..
this can regulate the power.. i am 99% sure it will work .. but i am not an expert .
there are lots of very intelligent people on this board.. wait till we get an answer.

The problem is that the unit you linked to outputs 13.8v, not 12v.
That's why it won't work. Use that and you'll destroy all your hardware that requires 12v input.
