    Group buy

Has anyone here thought about a group buy yet? I did a search, but couldn't find anything. We could all agree on a format and specifications, decide how much is a fair amount to spend per unit, and send a proposal to a manufacturer. Any interest?

Ok then, What we need is a power supply guru to help us decide what we all need. Then we need somebody we can all trust to make the deal with the manufacturer. I'm new to the board, so I'll have to trust in the consensus of the other members. I figure that if we can get 50 people to agree on a design/price and a negotiator, that'll be enough to convince a manufacturer to play by our rules. I figure no manufacturer will sneeze at $6500 in one purchase. I'm willing to pay $130 for a power supply that meets my needs. It must run a 850mhz AMD in a micro atx board as well as a 30 GB HD and DVD. An aux 12v DC out for my LCD would be great as well. What do the rest of you want?

ummm actually dccustoms is trying to organize a bulk purchase of dc-dc supplies, identical to the keypower ones. he has a thread going in the for sale forum. if you are willing to put your name down on the list for one, you have to commit to buying it though, i know i wouldnt want people backing out on me.

check out the for sale forum for details on the dc-dc buy.

We offer a 12VDC power supply in a 1U form factor:
    http://www.pcpowercooling.com/produc...leekline_12Vps
    .htm
found here (near the bottom of the page):
    http://www.pcpowercooling.com/prices/index_access.htm

This could run a Pentium 3 machine or maybe a lightweight Athlon computer,
but not a P4 or an AMD XP/MP machine. It works fine in our SleekLine
    computers:
    www.sleekline.com

    Thanks for your inquiry.
That's the email I got from PC Power & Cooling about theirs. Wow, I just checked their pricing again, and it's now only $130 and even cheaper if you buy 4 or more. Might be a bit iffy on your system though...
