    Question SPROGGY Mk2.5 PLEASE HELP!!!

Ok, before I venture out and purchases all of the components needed to build the Sproggy Mk2.5 is it actually a reliable source of power to run a computer safely in my boot???

I really don't want to spend $40 AUD on somthing that isn't practical!

So can you please post your PROS and CONS about the supply, hints when building, replacement parts to increase amps, faults ect. Anything and everything will be VERY helpful...

    Oh yeah, I thought a computer required 12V @ 8 Amps, 5V @ 20 Amps...

The sproggy doesn't supply this! Or doesn't a computer actually require these specs to run?

    Anyway thanks...

    Odin

    Another q. about the 2.5
    I can't find the max787 IC here.
Is there any other ic that could replace this ic, cause dont think they are going to send it to slovenia for free...?

You could try - they sent some to me in the uk for free! If not, send me your address and perhaps I can send you some...

Andrew: oho very generous of you
    I'll keep that in mind.
Tomorrow I'm going to another city and I'm going to try to find it there - with the other parts I need... it seems that everything that is free is not available here
    I can't find the max787, 788 and the lm2587-12t...

No probs - living in the uk is difficult enough for getting stuff like lcd controllers and stuff. Let me know how things go - I think I even have some spare parts here, otherwise I can get them sent from maxim.

The Coilcraft components are a ***** to obtain.
They gave me a quote for about 400 UKP to get 49 Transformers and 150 10uH coils, and that's the minimum order possible.
If however you want, we could do a massive order to get enough part for the next 5 years ;-)

sxpert: hehe that would be a solution but I'm not going to do a mass production of power supplies . I'll try to get some at the shop a friend of mine suggested me. maybe I'll send you one if I get it.
I sent an email at the local coilcraft reseller but they didn't replied my mail... yet..i hope

I spoke to coilcraft and they were perfectly willing to supply me with one transformer and the inductors. I think they quoted about 12 including shipping, so as far as I know there is no minimum order. However, this may have been from coilcraft uk only. If you want I can get some and ship them out to you? Anyway, I've got all the parts for a sproggy apart from the PCB. Anyone want to trade??
