Okay, I have a 600watt power inverter for my carputer, and I built the "Ghetto SDC" that I found here on the forums, and it shuts down my PC just fine- then it kills power to the inverter.... GREAT.

However, my inverter does not survive crank. So even with the Ghetto SDC in place, when I turn on my car the inverter thinks the battery is dead and doesnt supply power to the computer. So, what I need is a power on delay of about 5 seconds, to give the car time to actually start, before anything gives power to the inverter. So, I found this solution: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homep....htm#delay.gif

I also got that to work just the way I wanted it to (even though it was a PITA, I did it). This gets power, but waits 5 seconds before it gives power to the relay that powers the inverter, again, GREAT.

BUT. Both of these controllers use GROUND to make their circuit work. So I cant wire them in sequence becase the power on delay's ground is going to supply the Ghetto SDC (shutdown) ground, but once I kill the car the power on circuit's ground dies. Thus, everything dies. So my question is:

How can I wire both of these circuits up to do what I need it to do? Or, is there a better way to give me the 5 second power on delay that I need?

Thanks alot in advance for any help you guys can give me. I apreciate it.
