    Naughty? or just plain Dumb?

    Hi

I Have a problem, a problem that is killing me.

I Have a KV8 Pro 3rd eye Mobo and a 160Gig IDE HDD that i plan to put in my car.

    I Have a Snap-On Miniature 12v DC Power Supply - 200w.

The psu never had the 4 pin molex connector so what i did was...wait for it... I dont really know if this was a clever thing to do , but i cut the yellow and black wire from the stiffy drive power connector, i then duly cut a 4 pin molex connector from a dead PSU, connected the yellow to yellow, black to black, and then powered it up, ran for cover , then noticed that it powers up for like 5 seconds, then switches off , when using the normal (Wall socket) psu, it powers up like a dream but i think i broke something in the psu, plz help

That PW200M piece of crap isn't going to handle your system whatsoever.

I suggest you read this FAQ first: FAQ: Will <insert PSU model> Power Supply work with my system?

After you do that, it would be a good idea to rethink you system plans, as that Ath64 setup is going to draw lots of power, limiting your choices.

    Avoid the PW200M!
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

firstly, How do u know which components pull of which rail, well, i checked the table and, heh, what do u know, its pulling too much on the 12V rail for that crappy psu i got. wud u say that the Mini-Box M2-ATX wud b better? my processor is an Athlon64 3000+. the table says 89w is what the max cpu usage is (i think). the M2-atx on 12V is greater. but now, i dont know what pulls of what rail to rush out now n buy 1.
