You are screwed. No Matter what you try, if your bios does not support S3, well, no S3.
And dumppo.exe will just identifie what prevent a system from entering a sleep state when this sleep state is supported by the bios.
My BIOS only supports S1.. and not S3.. therefore when I enter standby.. all my fans keep spinning ...
I would really like for this NOT to happen so that I draw very little power...
I have read about a microsoft utility called DUMPPO.EXE.. but I dont know if this will really work for me...
anyways.. my mobo is a PC Chips K7 MB863G model...
Any help and ideas are greatly appreciated...
please note though.. that I am FIRMLY set on getting suspend to ram to work... hibernate is not a option.. since it takes just as long for me to resume from hibernate as it does to do a cold boot..
Thanks!!

Yes, once your OS tells the mobo to enter standby, it's pretty much all up to the hardware from that point on, so the mobo has to support it. Unfortunately, S3 standby seems to be an "expensive" feature for a mobo to support (like, it costs an extra dollar or two worth of parts) and as such, most mobo manufacturers either avoid adding it in the first place, or add it and then remove it in a later hardware revision after it has passed some certification tests and stuff that require it. (for example, the biostar M7NCG)
But don't take it from me! here's a quote from a real, live newbie:
