Well, my DSATX power supply has been working for 7 months or so. All of the sudden when I start my car, the computer starts to boot and the BIOS starts to load, but then shuts down.
If I manually start the computer not using the remote (car ignition) the computer runs off the power supply just fine, but that means I have to manually startup and shutdown the computer.
I cannot seem to figure out why this is doing this now.
Using the remote power up, after it shuts down the light remains on, or it starts to blink. Is there a manual somewhere that explains what the different blinking lights mean?
Can anyone help me out with this problem? Its starting to get real annoying having to manually startup and shutdown the computer =/
Well, i looked through these and none of them help me, or is the problem that i am having.
I double checked what happens...when I turn the car on, the computer starts to boot for about 2-3 seconds, then it just shuts off. The power supply light stays solid the whole time. IT never blinks to indicate a problem
Im really not sure, but it seems like the MB Switch is in a loop of sending the pulses to the mother board. The reason I think this is because when I have my car on, and connect the 2-pin to my MB, it switches on, waits 3 seconds then switches off.... if i disconnect, then reconnect the pin... it turns the MB on again, then off after 3 seconds...
I would think, if it wasnt in some kind of loop, that it would require the signal from the ACC (igniation) to send a pulse to the MB to turn on
I just started having the same problem. The computer boots when ignition is turned and then after 3 seconds it shuts off and the red light on the DSATX stays solid. I checked all the wiring and it looks fine. The computer still starts ok when using a different PSU. I'll look more into it...
Same problem here, have had my DSATX for 2 weeks, just 2 days ago it started doing the following:
Acc is hot, DSATX boots pc .... I see bios screen, and then 10 or so seconds later the DSATX shuts the PC off.
Looking at the DSATX the red light is still on even after this happens, fans on the mobo are still spinning but the pc is off.
Only way to fix this is to reset to defaults (via serial cable, or jumper) but that only works for a few hours. If I let the car sit overnight the next morning it will do the same thing. Boot for 10ish seconds then shutoff.
My serial number is D852606.
Any help would be great as it is unusable atm.
FWIW, this is from one of the threads I posted above. My DSATX 220w experience
Maybe it will help, sure can't hurt.
Can you trace it to the jumper that hits the button on the motherboard? If you disconnect the 10 pin jumper does it work again?
Do you have a brainstem connected when this happens?
Can you send me a picture of your setup?
Would you like a replacement unit?
