M2-atx Q...

Hi guys,

I just got my m2-atx, and I'm in the process of designing my setup.

I just have a question:

During cranking, my car turns off power to the ACC wire. I just want to know will this cause the m2-atx turn off as well???

Depending on how you have the jumpers set, maybe. Basically, if you have a jumper somewhere on the A, B, or C contacts, you have anywhere from 5 seconds to 3 hours before it will send the shutdown signal to the motherboard. If there aren't any jumpers on there, it acts like a normal power supply (no delay). It is clearly explained on the pdf. Search google for "m2-atx pdf" and ye shall see!

try finding another wire that is live when your keys are in.

I have mine on 5sec delay on and 45 sec delay off. I have never tried to turn off then turn on before the 45 secs. I think you may have a problem, once the ACC is off (depending on how long it's off for) the M2 may send the signal to your comp to hiber/shutdown.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think it should be fine if the shutdown signal is dependent on the jumper settings...

The acc wire is off until the car starts, which is only about 1 ~ 3 sec.

I have mine set to 5 secs/2 hours. The M2 is designed to cope with cranking the engine, so even if it gets power on the ACC line it will wait until voltages are stable before supplying power to the PC. Even if you have to re-crank a few times it's not a problem as the M2 is edge-triggered on the ACC line and will not "bounce" the power to the PC. You'd only really have a problem if the M2 was set to "dumb" ATX mode, i.e. 0/0.
