New carnetix psu messing up. fans not working and making interference

Just got my carnetix psu in the mail, and there is distortion on the screen and speakers (this is with a ground loop isolator) and the fan isn't working correctly. What to do?

Here's what the fan does: You turn on the unit and the fan spins up at normal speed for about 1 or 2 seconds. It then slows down to about 1/10th the speed and starts making a clicking sound. I believe that its this clicking that's getting into my monitor and other things.

Well, I have a hypothesis. The monitor is powered right now through the cigarette lighter and are just now manifesting themselves b/c of the different grounding points. I noticed that the internal audio had less noise than the usb (more resistance b/w the usb touch pad and the speakers) and when I touch the screen the noise almost goes away. When the car is running, there is almost no noise at all in either the speakers or the monitor (strange). I plan on powering the monitor from the extra input on the carnetix psu. There are 2 spare wires I can utilize for the power and are already run from the trunk to the dash. They were for the cd changer. The fan still makes a strange noise, but I guess I'll ignore it. It does not seem to be the power supply that's causing the issue.

Guess what, no more noise. The only thing I did was to reroute some cables. There's still a little noise in the right channel (I think its picking it up on its way to the subwoofer as it is the channel that powers the sub), but nothing major. I'll still have to run a little more cabling, but everything is looking up. The longer I let the carnetix run, the better it gets (I guess theres some kind of breakin period?). No more distortion in screen to speak of either. I changed nothing about the wiring. Strange. I guess it could have been my mess of cables all running over one another. I tidyed it up. The computer starts and shuts down just like it should. . .BTW, the carnetix WILL start the computer by default when the ignition it engaged, thankfully. I didn't want any extra components in my trunk. 4 plugs and I can remove the whole computer. It works GREAT with centrafuse. Great frontend. Can't wait till the non-beta version comes out.

OK, still don't know why the fan makes the noise it makes, but I fiddled with it and it is now working correctly. I had to run a larger wire (I actually ran 2 wires of the same gauge) to power the unit. The noise comes and goes, and I am not sure what's causing that issue. It's hardly noticable anymore, especially with the car running.
