Hey guys,
i need a power supply that will supply +12, -12, and +5v. my question is... if i get an atx psu, how do i have it turn on if it's not connected to a mobo? yeah..it's a noobish question, and i did search but i either came back with no results or 1000 results. nothing really answered my question though.
any help would be greately appreciated.

there is a wire that you short to ground, I dont remember the color of it off hand, but it is easy to find (I want to say its usually green, but I cant remember)
Also you can get DC-DC PSU's that work as AT power supplys. I have a dual PSU setup, ds-atx running in atx mode with the computer and a opus 120 running in AT mode (configurable with a jumper) for all of my usb, screen, night vision camera and other devices.

thanks for the response. i believe it is the green wire too. i have the atx pin out from another thread i started.
