Exclamation Trigger wire from Sony Amp..to Where?

I have an old XM 701 Sony power amp I want to install.
It has a trigger wire. I am locating the amplifier in the back
of my 2K Camaro and getting power from the Monsoon power
amp hidden near the spare. I connect the power cable and the
trigger wire together to the yellow switched wire on the monsoon
amp for some power but the protection circuit is on and there is
no sound. Where else should this trigger be connected. Any ideas?
    Thanks

I assume you upgraded your wiring and did not just split the constant 12v power wire that your amp already had.

Also the protection is coming on for both, or just the old amp? Do they both get power, but no sound?

The trigger can be split because it is just a remote wire that carries mA's.

The Monsoon system works fine but the additional amp does not produce any sound, I am connecting the second amp to the speaker outputs using a line output convertor. The powr and the red protection light turns on...so I am
stuck. Help! When I disconnected the line output convertor, the red light was still on.

That sony amplifier needs a completely seperate power feed straight from the battery. You CANNOT use stock wiring to power that amplifier.
