never heard of Syntax, but don't get a 140W. You'll be asking us why your inverter keeps tripping. I have never had any problems with my 300W.
I am looking for suggestions on a brand of inverter called Syntax. I have found a 140W model for only $25 or so. Is this a reputable brand? Does anyone here own this model? Any suggestions for other brands are also welcome...

Hmmm, ok, thanks for the warning. Although, I have read many posts here by people who have had good success with their 140W's. What do you mean by tripping? I'm assuming that you mean it goes into some shutdown mode... I will probably want to expand my system to do DVD inthe future, and who knows what else. So, 300W makes sense anyways.

Anyone have problems with the Vector MAXX 400W inverter from Sams Club?

i just got one of those vector inverters from sams, and YES, i am having problems. When i plug the computers PSU into it, it just turns on the overload light, even when it's not powered up. Any ideas?
System in the works:
Celeron 850 or PIII 933, SB Live! Value into a stock 4 channel amp, ATI vid, 10.4" sharp LCD w/ allen's controller, Elo SW touchscreen overlay and controller, GPS, TV tuner, FW DVD drive, 4 port serial card, and some other stuff....
Loads of ideas.
Check out the thread 'Inverter Problems.' I have the same inverter and the same problems. Maybe we can come up with something or else maybe just admit defeat.
