I need help sheilding an inverter.

How exactly would one shield an entire housing of an inverter without having it over heat? I'm trying to minimize emi leakage if I potentially have any. Better to have it done first than wait to redo lots of stuff.

Obviously I know foil is probably one of the most popular sheilding materials but how should it be done?

I'd say try it out first, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I've never had an inverter cause interference problems, and I've had several. If it does, I'd suggest painting it with Conductive Shielding Paint (used in electric guitar electronics cavities). It's not the cheapest stuff (about $20-$40 for half a pint), but it should let your inverter breathe well, and once its there, you won't have to worry about it getting torn like foil.

Mine was causing some noise but grounding the case (to the groung distro block) solved the problem. install it and see what happens..you may get lucky!

Okay well I tested it. The sound is perfect for my normal speakers but my subs emit a decent level of humming and they still play. I'm not sure if that makes sense because if the interference was affecting it wouldn't it hit the normal car audio?
