Carnetix P2140 PSU - Mac Mini

    Hi!

I was just wondering if the PSUmoni software that comes with the P2140 works with Mac OS X, or if it works under boot camp or more importantly under Parallels desktop. Has any one tried this?

i.e. I want to know if it is worth paying the extra £20 for the model with the monitoring software, but if I can't use it, then I might as well go for the P1900.

Has anyone used this with a mac mini? Also, I assume the mac cable kit works with the P2140? And that the P2140 doesn't require the resistor mod.
    Can someone please confirm this...

    Ta!

The PSUmoni2140 is a windows application that gives you full access to the inner workings of the CNX-P2140 regulator for easier setup, operation, and debugging of your CarComputer system.
I'll point out the phrase Windows application.

no, I did know that. Thanks anyway. But I meant can it run under XP if XP itself is virtualized. i.e. under boot camp (means i have to restart) or in Parallels (virtualized)

If you meant that, you should have said that.
If the virtual Windoze for Mac (WINE? Something similar?) can communicate with USB, then I see no reason why this wouldn't work, although I couldn't say for certain.

Have you contacted Carnetix and asked them? They monitor these forums, so it's also possible someone from the company will see this and respond, as well.

    Good luck.

I contacted them first. And they were not 100% sure. But some guy on there said he was going to do exactly that in the next few weeks. And they also suggested I try here.

    My 4 (real) options are:
    1. Don't use the monitoring software
    2. Use XP in Parallels
    3. Use XP in BootCamp
    4. Use WINE to run the program

    Ta!

    Thanks again,

    Dan :-)
