Hey Everyone,
Well its been pretty cold here for the past 2 weeks around 12F-25F
The computer is not starting up at all, just a blank screen but after driving for 15-20mins the computer starts up.
I am using a Opus 150
Any ideas? I never had these problems in the past few years.

I do not think the hard drive is the issue because the OPUS does not even start to turn on so the hard drive does not even spin.
how do you know that the opus wont turn on? you use a multimeter?

Agree that it's the hard drive, though you should be able to see it run through the post since that's from the bios not the hard drive. I'm having similar issues, but see the post each time.
It's getting to -20C in Virginia?

No, but anytime my car sits overnight when the temp falls below freezing it takes quite a while for my carputer to boot. As I mentioned, it goes through the post and then nothing for ten to fifteen minutes until the hard drive warms from the heat of the processor. I never had this issue until I installed a new Maxtor 300gig hard drive a month or two ago. I'm assuming that there's some fluid in the newer drives that doesn't like the cold.
It is not getting to post, the OPUS does not even acknowledge the signal from the ignition wire in the car
The poor little electrons are frozen solid and can't move down the wire
Check the signal voltage to the OPUS, and your 12V to the power supply. It sounds like it is a bad connection, or for some reason you are not getting enough voltage to fire up the OPUS.
my problem is similar, Im using an m2-atx. but my problem isnt from the hard drive, its from the bios resetting itself overnight when it is cold. I am guessing that the battery just cannot maintain enough voltage or current hen it is frozen, and my temps up here in maine are often well below zero F.
I am wondering if I hook up two batteries in parrallel if the added current would be enough to survive through a sub zero night, or if I would just burnut the motherboard in the proccess. lol
any thoughts?
