    Yet another M2-ATX issue.

    Good day,

I have an M2-ATX, with a VIA Mini-ITX EPIA-M. Hooked it up in the car and no dice. Trying it now with a molex from my home PSU, and it's still not working. Tested the molex with a multimeter and it's reading 12V just fine. Anything else I should double check? As far as I know it's all hooked up correctly... Any ideas? Is the M2 screwed? The fuse seems fine, as it reads 0 Ohms on the multimeter. Anything else I should check?

    Thanks

First, the M2 and rthe EPIA boards is a known problem, search for it.

When you say you are "Trying it now with a molex from my home PSU, and it's still not working." What IT are you refering to in both places? "Tested the molex with a multimeter and it's reading 12V just fine." Which molex did you test for 12 volts, the M2 Molex, another Molex that you are using to test the M2?????

What happens when you use the M2 besides "No Dice"

Sorry, I tried searching and couldn't find much on this specific question (as to how to be sure it's dead).

As for the known issue of the M2 with the EPIA, I haven't seen anything on this, will try to search now for that specific issue, unless someone has a direct link handy?

Furthermore, the way I hooked it up was by connecting the M2 to the 4-pin Molex in my home PC, to simulate the car's power, and then connected the M2 to my EPIA.

    Sorry for the confusion.

...and check that out, I just fixed it while posting. Apparently I was being a moron this whole time and reading the jumper numbers wrong. Sorry about that.

Will try it in the car in a moment.

But, while we're on the subject... What is this issue you speak of?

How did you connect it though... Did you take the yellow 12v wire to the 12v constant on the M2, and then ground to ground only? Or did you tie the ignition line into the yellow 12v wire from the desktop PSU as well?

And 1 of the issues is between Jetway boards and M2's in general. They just don't mingle well.

And another thing is the power button wire, could need to be reversed/flipped on one end.

Also, will the PC turn on if you short the contact yourself?Meaning you have the M2 hooked up except for the power button wire that goes between the M2 and the mobo's header. Then short out those pins win a screwdriver or something momentarily, and see if it turns on.

No worries, glad it appears to be working now.

Cool I'll take a look. I'm still not 100% sure that this is working, as I only connected the motherboard and looked for the fan spinning as a sign, I know that's not always a sign that it's working just right.

Anyway, thanks guys for the help, sorry I wasn't clear the first time, and sorry I wasted your time with a potentially worthless thread :x I frequent lots of forums for other stuff, and I wanna shoot people when they do crap like that. :P

Gonna do some more extensive testing momentarily.
