Finally got everything together to put in and tried to do a quick test run before installing. After getting everything together I went to powerup system and startup no problem except I am not getting a video signalSO after playing with everything I could think of I found out that if I unplugged my DVD player and started up I would get a video signal but as soon as I plugged back in no video!!
Replaced DVD player with 3 different ones with same results. Thought maybe the startup/shutdown controller was bad switched out with spare with same results. DC power is good cause I am running a regulated DC power with shop DC power supply
Finally after hours of switching stuff back and forth and throwing stuff around and tons of cussing.![]()
Have OPUS 150 on the way to replace but was wondering if there was anything else I should check out.
Thanks

Start-up/Shut Down-unsure
As far as the PS and stup/shdwn not 100% cause I bought it a while back; I have been piecing this together for some time.
The screen is a Lilliput 8" TS; had that running off of the DC power supply
I even took the Lilliput out and used my home monitor and still had the same problems.
The DVD was not hot swapped had to shut down and repower to get it up and running.![]()
I am led to believe that the startup shutdown was causing a little of the problem cause I took a voltage measurement and I was only getting about 11.3VDC out even if I had the DC power supply putting out 14.4V like a normal car would. (I know I said I switched out the controller BUT I meant that I switched out the PS cause I had a spare.) Took out startup/shutdown and still had problems. Hope all that made sense!!!
I know I sound like a noob and I am at the carputer stuff but do car audio and build home computers just never worked with all the DC-DC PS stuff!!!![]()
I live on this site and have learned tons of stuff just took a little time to get everything together before attempting. If this is something I could have found in a search I apologize but I coulnt find anything like this.
How much RAM? Any other parts?
The PW-120 does have a reputation for not really powering 120 watts.
The trick is knowing what to look for. I think you are overworking that little PS.
If you use a desktop supply will everything work?

the PW-120 has only 60% effeciency, so that would mean it only puts out 72watts at most.....

I knew it was to good to be true!! I wanted an opus 150 anyway just made the deal concrete when that one wouldnt support it. Have been piecing this unit together for 2 years now just didnt have the vehicle to put it in; but now that I am back in the US I went straight down and got my 03 Ram; hopefully the install will pick up after I get this PS.
Have to get everything in before I go play in the sand in May.
Thanks for all the help; I was about 85% sure that the PS was a POS but just wanted to run it through the pros!!!![]()
