Do you have 12v running to your ACC terminal on the M2?
Come to think of t, an overall idea of how it's wired might be useful, as well.![]()
Okay, i hooked up my m2 atx, j8 to the mb and j9 to a button, i also set the j10 to A (5/45). For some reason it wont send the signal to my MB to hibernate or boot. the m2 sends power to the MB after 5 or so seconds when i start my car and it also turns off after about 45 sec, but it wont boot like its supposed to. Any ideas?
i have a 4ga wire running from my battery to a distro block in my dash that goes to the 12v+ on the m2, i also have it hooked up to the 12v+ acc wire that goes to my HU, then it is grounded to the chasis. Everything works fine it just doesnt send the signal to the mb to boot or hibernate...
Do you have a continuity tester? Test the J8 pins for continuity as you apply the power to the accessory wire, and wait about 10 seconds. See if it closes.
Does ANYTHING happen? What MB?

If you push the buton manually? does it turn on? Both from the M2 and the motherboard.
Basically short out the pins in the header on the mobo to turn on, and see if it goes. IF it works try to short out the header for the manual switch on the M2, and see what happens.

i have a via 10000 mb, i havent tried using a continuity tester yet but i will as soon as i get home today. The button works just fine on both the m2 and the mb.
This is going to sound stupid and go against most of what you know about on/off headers, but flip the header pin around. Fixes some boards. It did for mine.
Right now if your M2's power wire is black and red, with pin 6 having the black, and pin 8 with the red, switch them, so that pin 6 has the red end of the wire, and pin8 has the black side. Leave it alone on the M2 side.
The M2 works by either sending out a small infantessamle voltage or it grounds a pin. More than likely grounds. But if it is grounding a pin that on your motherboard does not point to ground, you get nada. Just try it.![]()

hmmm... sounds interesting, i will try that when i take my lunch break here in about an hour or so, if its as simple as that ill prolly crap myself if it works...![]()
It isn't always, but it has been known to work. All depends on what your mobo is. I have a M10k too, so I know this works for this type of board. If it works, it just means the manufacturer went the cheap way of building the circuit rather the the full more expensive way. And by more expensive I mean fractions of a penny.![]()
