    5v line filter?

    Hi All,
I power my USB hub off of one of my Molex connectors and just traced my noise problems last night to be this connection. I need to use the Molex from a functionality perspective so I'm wondering if there is such a thing as a noise filter to put onto this 5v line? Or, would a point of load DC-DC device be able to be hooked up to this and do the same trick?

    TIA,
    Per

probly go with a small 15 watt point of load regulator

thats what i plan on using. i plan on using a point of load in a small box behind the dash for the monitor and usb hub in the front of the car as well as for the cd-dvd rom drive. i may just go with a small like 40 watt point of load or psu for it. i know the monitor takes 10-15 watts, the cd-dvd drive and usb hub should be small.

what you all think i need for those 3 items. a point of load regulator for each or use a small PSU?

i think an actual power regulator for the line the monitor is powered on will help the life of the monitor quite a bit. originally thought its direct current. but then thought about cranking of the engine and such. think this will work/help?

i plan on having usb for thumb drives and such in the front with switches in my ashtray for power switch for carpc, amps and a mains(on/off) to cut it all off when i want or need to.
