OK currently i have a 400watt inverter powering my computer the current PSU is 350watts....
it is a little XPC made by shuttle, the model is SD31P
i want to buy a DC-DC psu with shutdown controller... any ideas which would work best?
Join the club. i'm also using a 400 power inverter. the power supply is only 250 watts. my pc currently draws about 180 so im stuck. all the dc-dc psu's at that wattage are too expensive. you need to get your power draw below 160w and then your options will start opening up. right now i think your system draws way more then that. what are your specs on the pc.
you could use something like this calculator to help you out

The "expensive" prces on opus and the DSATX PSU's are there for a reason....
1. They have more output than the cheaper ones (duh)
2. And most important, they're far more relible and have important features the cheaper ones don't have.
Xenia & Isabelle, totally in love!
