Not skinnable yet. Skins give me headaches. I mean the skin config gives me headaches.

Trying to embrace the XML format. Seems like its great for stuff. But its a bit hard to master, but once mastered it should be pretty easy.

    Serial Relay Controls

    Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to use NaviVoice to control a serial relay board. Is that something that could be configured via the ini and xml or is that more like rewrite?

    BD

    It sure can

Make the serial relay board accept command line parameters. Then just configure NaviVoice to launch the app with the parameters when you say something (I'ld put it into the places)

What about integration with a couple of portable radios? I am speaking of the ones you can get at WalMart for about $30 these days which purport a 2 mile range. Then I could just speak into my unit and the computer picks up and executes my commands from afar, to the point of starting the vehicle up, turning on the AC, tuning a specific station, or maybe (in my case) opening the rear doors with the motors I plan on adding to them.

Even more helpful would be if the computer can transmit information back through a synsthesized voice. I ask for a vehicle diagnostic and can know whether I am out of gas or if the internal temperature is getting too high where it is parked. I could literally spend hours dreaming up applications, but they all come down to voice control over the walkie-talkies.

*EDIT* Just thought of something really cool to use that idea for and just had to post it. In my particular case, I want to automate the loading and unloading of my motorcycle as much as possible. I am kicking around the idea of motorized ramps, winches, and doors so that I only have to drive the bike onto the ramp, press a button, and the bike is pulled into the van, secured, and the doors close without me ever having to touch it. Unloading is just the opposite. Granted, if I had computer control of this process, I could just establish some sort of macro that ran when I pushed a remote button (such as modifying an alarm arming keychain). But the "cool" factor would be speaking into the radio to tell the van to get my bike ready before I ever even got to it.

You can control other aplications if they accept command line parameters.
It does nto have the functionality yet to read any data stream unless I already programmed it it

I actually don't understand what that means. Is there no way to take the speaker output and route it through the microphone or line input so that the computer picks up the voice as if you were in the vehicle? In return, to have it respond, simply engage a relay and send audio through the microphone on the walkie talkie. Am I making it to sound too simplistic or is there more to this I simply am not getting?

NaviVoice will work with any microphone that is plugged in to your computer. So if you get a micrphone that is long distance, then it should work.

Well, the genie will only pop up if you're using SAPI 4 and forgot to put in an empty character like I said

Next version: maybe next week. My computer is reinstalled. As you can see, I've released a new version of GammaControl (link in sig) already.
