Did you try the conf.exe program and does it work there? If it doesn't talk at all then you probably have some files not installed, so try installing the text-to-speech engines from the links in the NaviVoice.htm file.

Exclamation Some error codes and what to do about them

What do I need to do to get rid of the "an unknown app-deifined or object-defined failure occured" message?
    Download SAPI 4.

My agent doesn't speak when I test it out with conf.exe.
    Download a text-to-speech engine.

    Character id is not valid?
You don't have the invisible char in c:\windows\msagent\chars\

It says that the floating point is between 3.37 x 10^-4932 and 1.18 x 10^4932, so this should definatly be in its range. Try putting a + before the values in the GammaControl.ini file. I think I may have a solution! Check if you have a space before the .9 in the INI file (GammaControl.ini), I couldn't replicate this error with my computer but maybe that's the problem.

About setup... lets wait till we get the floating point issue solved.
I managed to fix this, it depends on the windows locale.
I opened the .ini files and replaced the .'s with ,'s (as we use here in norway)
Looks like it works fine if you use the local desimal sign.

Cool. I still dont' get what you did, so could you please post the INI file?

    Thanks

[Edit]: Oh! I get it! So 1.9 became 1,9. Gotcha.

Yeah.. Sorry for the bad english

It was really just a shot in the dark, I assumed that they use the same desimal sign in the Netherlands, although it really should not matter?
