Thread: What micrphones are you guys using with this?

I asked this in the old thread, thanks to Rafster for pointing it out.

I have a mic in my BMW X5 for use with the BMW voice recognition. When I do a memo record my voice is very low. I would like to use the mic for the computer, maybe its just the VM that sucks. Or I guess I can change the mic to the logitech one and improve the VM as well as use it for the computer. My question is, is it a good idea to have one mic split in two going to two inputs?

Well, SAPI likes it to be quiet for some reason. So I guess your BMW mic would work well

My recent post in Hardware forum:

I am using a BT Headset with a USB-BT Dongle with no problems. It acts like a sound-card with mic and speaker. If you have either or both of them as the preferred playback/recording device then the button on the Headset will switch your mic/sound between Sound-Card and Headset (because it connects/disconnects the device).

It is cool but I want more... I want:

1) A macro that will will run when the Headset connects/disconnects so that I have have it enable speech recognition to "dial" Google-Talk / Skype contacts and/or control my PC.

or 2) A program that allows the button to work just like it does with a BT Cell Phone (you can voice-dial, mute, answer/ignore/hangup). This solution may require different BlueTooth connection software than the one that came with my BlueTooth USB Dongle, different drivers for my USB Dongle, or possibly a different USB Dongle that supports this all together.

Does anyone have any more information on this topic? I've been searching Google but found nothing other than some Skype plug-in that is in beta and doesn't work with my hardware.

The easiest solution is to just be able to run a script (or Girder event plug-in) on connect/disconnect and I can do the rest with Girder and a speech plug-in... does anyone know how to do that?

Hey Ol33l... figure out how to make NaviVoice auto-detect when the current "preferred" recording device changes so it can auto-enable/disable speech detection. There is an MMSystem component that lets you easily see all the WindowsMixer settings. After you get that done, make all the INI/XML stuff for Google Talk. LOL... it's a good idea though .

BTW: With the speech plug-in for Girder... couldn't you basically replicate Navi-Voice's functionality with a Girder script file for iG?

You can use the registry to play around with the windows mixer. So run a reg spy when you change the settings and then mimick them. Accessing the registry is easy in delphi

I haven't updated NaviVoice forever
