From what I remember.. I think he placed it in the A-pillar and said it got too much wind noise. He wanted to put it into his rear view mirror last time I checked.

Hey Webdog (or anyone else that might know), how many wires are connected to the actual microphone? I'm wondering if I can keep from running new wires by taking advantage of the existing microphone wiring in my BMW e46 and just connect some wires to the logitech mic piece and locate the board elsewhere. I found a great site for those with e46s that shows the mic wiring: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/lboyers/hf/technical.htm

I have a mic in my BMW X5 for use with the BMW voice recognition. When I do a memo record my voice is very low. I would like to use the mic for the computer, maybe its just the VM that sucks. Or I guess I can change the mic to the logitech one and improve the VM as well as use it for the computer. My question is, is it a good idea to have one mic split in two going to two inputs?
