Mic keeps unmuting on resume

What's weird is that I don't know why it is broadcasting the MIC through the speakers :(

exactly my point, it is natural to do that if you unmute the mic but the question is why does it unmute the mic? everything that need a feed from the mic works fine with the mic muted. It makes no sence... lowering the volume makes some sence since maybe to voice is distorted or the mic is to loud when its high but unmuting... i don't know. I'll try runing some other aplication that uses SAPI for voice recognition to see if it does the same.

It unmutes the MIC because it is listening. I have NaviVoice constantly listening for "Boris"... that is why the MIC is on. I don't turn it on, SAPI does it for me.

I just teste Realize Voice that uses SAPI 5 and guess what! It does the same thing exactly! So it is the SAPI.

I knew it was SAPI long ago. It did the same thing when I opened the speech control panel. Plus NaviVoice doesn't have any functions to control the volume anymore (early versions had code to do it, but it was never realized).

sorry I didn't se your last post! well yes it is the sapi but the thing is that even if you mute mic everything works fine! Navivoice works as it should. and the othe program tha I am testing so there is no need to have it unmuted

I had the same problem. If Navivoice works with a muted mic, then what you have muted is the "mic playback", which should be muted. When I muted the mic playback in mine, all echo and such went away as well.

01331, you mentioned Navivoice does not have volume control. Then why is it that when I say "volume up", or "volume down", it reacts accordingly? I have version 1.7

Awesome! That works for me too... now no more feedback (and probably lower CPU usage).

I said that NaviVoice does not have volume control. Well, it doesn't. It uses the frontend's volume control. I thought that I'd avoid incompatabilities that way ;)

That is what I have been doing! I can mute the mic playback manualy and yes everything is great! But when the SAPI restarts it unmutes it again! That means that every time my car starts and the computer resumes from hibernation the mic unmutes again and I must mute it manualy! It does not stay muted. 01331 Does yours stay muted after SAPI restarts recognition?

Probably not. I'll make a quick program that will mute the MIC when the computer resumes :)
