Problem keeping default voice as AT&T natural voice crystal.

Whenever I go into the navivoice config unility and change the default voice, it never keeps the setting. It always goes back to the super annoying guy. I have tried changing the .ini to set female as default, and making female voice as default in the config, but it won't stay! The guy is driving me nuts!

I am trying to get the default to be the att natural voice 'crystal' that I have.

Sounds like you have an aold version of SAPI for some reason. i've only seen this happening on SAPI5 machines. Anyways, go to the control panel, speech, and change the voice there.

Oh! Then its very weird. I use 6.1 also, which came from the office cd.

I guess it works on some comuters and doesn't work on others.

Thats about the same problem i'm having.

I installed SAPI off of office 2003, when i go control panel/speech under the "speech recog" tab the language says 'ASR Version 5 Engine'??

When i click on the "other" tab, I have a button that says 'SAPI4 control panel'.

Am i running 6.1? Could there be office 2003 disks out there with 5 on it?

No, you are not running 6.1. 6.1 will say "Microsoft English (U.S) v6.1 Recognizer".

Well, OLE erros can come up for a lot of reasons. One is not having the XML in folder. another one is not having SAPI installed.
