I use it mostly to show-off and impress others (hey I am talking to my car and what is more....she knows me too!) but when there isn't alot of ambient noise in the car, it makes switching songs so easy and effortless. I use it for Frodoplayer and iGuidance control. It works great. The only time it messses up is when I am on my cell phone. It starts to respond back to me and finally shuts itself off!

I'm sure you can device a way to turn off recognition when you're using the phone... I think I included soem command lines for turning off recognition. So when you get a call you'd just run the NV with those settings and it will turn off recognition, and when u hang up, you'd run NV with the turn on recognition setting

I don't know if phoneco can run programs with command lines when u get the call. That's what it would take.
NV accepts command line parameters, and it only supports one instance, so all the command line params get sent to the running instance.

    Thanks Boris!

I know this thread is starting to get old but - I just wanted to take a moment to thank Boris for an awesome program!!!

I am getting close to my in car install - I have my 7" lcd fabbed into my replacement dash panel, gps receiver, IG, RR,MC2.0 skin, and NaviVoice all working pretty well.(there's always more tweaking to do!)

I have tested it in car and Navivoice works great. I was driving with music up loud and Navivoice recognized the commands and performed the correct actions.( once or twice I had to raise my voice a little but I was surprised how well it worked.

It works great with RR and my audio browser (play, stop, pg up and dn, previous directory, etc.). It will be awesome to do all this without taking my hands off the wheel. NaviVoice lets me control IG by voice and works great! Way better than typing on the OSK while driving!! (I still have to work out a few things here - I think I have a short in my mic, when I move the mic around it enters random keystrokes.)

The most important reason to use NaviVoice is because it is cool and it will impress your friends!!(or at least make them question your sanity!) I originally changed Boris to "Hey Baby" but my GF seemed a little annoyed.(and frankly it started to seem a little weird after a while.)

I also have NaviVoice (Cepestral Linda)responding to me such things as Hi George!!; Oh I have missed you so much!; Thank you for coming back!!; I'll do anything you want all you have to do is ask!!; I am ready to perform whatever you desire!!.(I would love to get Acapela Heather...I also like Scansoft Australian Karen)... (again my gf thinks I am nuts - ok she thought that anyway).

Anyway, Boris Thank you very much for your hard work and for such a cool program!!!

ps. if anyone asks you always say: "I use NaviVoice because I am very safety concious."

I'll be tryin NaviVoice soon.. just worried cause I get a lot of road noise (convertable) - obviously not a fault of the program. We'll see how well it works anyways.

    gbh: Glad you're happy

About road noise: maybe a BT headset with road noise canceling
