For everyone interested, I've uploaded the SDK/API example!
    (unfortunately currently only Delphi-code)

It can be found in the CarMa Downloads !

    Thanks for the compliment!
It's good to see people are enjoying it already

Haha, don't mind the current template of the website..
Just had to find something to set up fast (still need to move it to a faster host.. but later)

But maybe there will be a small demo, but I think we need some more stuff to demonstrate.
It is still in development phase, but everyone is free to try it while we try to only upload
    the (somewhat) stable versions.

I've uploaded a new build and an updated SDK example.

This build contains mostly just basic GPS support (and the necessary scripting for it).
A couple of GPS parameters are displayed on the mainscreen to demonstrate.
To configure and use it, check the settings-xml after a run/close action of the
application (cause of the rewrite of the new config file).

This build is not tested yet on a system without GPS, not yet sure what will happen
(same for incorrect configured port.. it will probably search forever or something like that)

The downloads are, as usual, available from the link in my signature.

    Enjoy testing with me!

    Btw...

I'm about to start on the FM-Radio interface in a couple of days if everything runs without issues.
I'm going to prepare the radio interfaces also for digital radio, and probably internet radio.
But currently, I will only implement the Silabs USB FM Receiver.

Meanwhile I'm going to try to optimize more (today & tomorrow), but it quite hard to optimize something which doesn't use any CPU
(seriously, check it with the taskmanager or Microsoft's ProcessExplorer)
Even while music is playing and GPS is receiving!

Also, we will resurrect the requests topic....
Might come in handy soon since the basic stuff is getting quite complete already.

Yeah.. Delphi 7 through 2009 (and maybe 2010 too, but can't test myself).

But what is your preferred development language, if I may ask?

I can try to create an example in ... I might be able to port the headers..
But .NET assemblies are not yet supported due to technical difficulties of loading them in a win32 app,
although I'm investigating a possible option... but no promises yet..

Well.. Referring to .NET assemblies.. It could be done, regarding this page.
They can be loaded as COM (with some bits of nasty code)..
But I totally don't have any experience with that.

If someone could provide a very small sample of code, I can help translating that.
I'm not quite able, I think, to set up a DLL-plugin the C/C++ way, or VB/C#/.NET way..
But I can try to translate and continue existing code..

Maybe this could help in the translation:
Send me the code for a small plugin the regular way, using your regular language.
All I need is one exported function (stdcall) which returns an IUnknown (or, preferred, a
somewhat more defined interface with a couple of dummy methods and properties) to
your object. I might be able to complete the plugin based on the Delphi headers.
Right now it wouldn't take too long to convert, the interfaces are quit a few,
but nowhere extreme as any MS product
(and if I know the structure of the code, I might be able to automate this process
and create a code generator, which makes it easy to stay updated with the latest
    version of the API's)

I just learned that .NET assemblies can be loaded as a COM-like object.
I've created a very small C# .NET plugin, which I'm trying to load into CarMa.

The .NET plugin developers probably need to include a small xml with the
classname and the namespace of the plugin-object inside the assembly.
This is also to distinguish the Win32 plugins from the .NET plugins.

An example C# plugin, would that be helpful?
It will be included in the SDK, if I get it working ofcourse.

    c# would be good.

Not sure why a small XML with class name is required.

Have a look at the CF and/or RevFE SDK's both are .net but slightly different.
