i also just tried to uncheck webservice in setup and found that when i try to change most settings it tells me access denied.
i installed the version from auto app mart and then the most current vcersion on your website both hung aup at the same point. when i start the app it stops at
"[20] Loading plugin CMWebDervice.dll"
I'm running win7, does this have anything to do with it? Please let me know, because everything i've read about your frontend makes me want to try it. I made a small donation to autoappmart planning to make a better one if i found the program satisfactory.
thanks,

Hi!
Thanks for your time testing it, and of course, your donation!
I think this freeze problem is caused by the weather or webservice
plugins. I'm going to analyze it this weekend. It has probably to do
with not being able to find some internet address or something.
I'm sure I can solve it quickly (as in, this weekend, or maybe tonight
already).
The "access denied" is weird.. Ah.. well... not at all, I think...
Could it be that you're running it from a regular user account?
I think I have to move the config and data files one more time.
It is now being stored in the application folder, but on Vista and
Win7 these folders are protected (only admins can write there).
I'll modify it so it will use the official Windows appdata folders, it is
also more compliant to the Vista/Win7 way of storing settings and data.
Allow me to fix a new build this weekend,
as usual, I'll keep everyone posted on the progress.
Again, thanks for your donation and your time
testing CarMa. We really appreciate it!

thanks, i'll wait it out.
I've uploaded a new version. Hopefully it will fix your configuration issues.
The application will now use the User Profile folder to store all data.
Let me know if it works!

Thank you for testing!
Unfortunately, it's not there yet.. Video support is almost finished, I'm probably
going to release it together with the XM radio player plugin. It's planned for the
second or third week of january. (Still need to finish a few things for it,
including the interface and a fullscreen related bug - it doesn't allow switching
back from fullscreen :s )

looking forward to the update! Also, how about an external application launcher? I like using Navit for my navigation software, how about an application panel that basically launches the app and minimizes CarMa until closed. If this makes any sense...
Here is a quick photo shop of CarMa with some more feature icons and an "applications list". I know they are all browsers, but they dont have to be, this is just an example!!
