definitely the first is better
Guys,
Just wanted to share some designs I have for pycar.
It suppose to work on touchscreen monitors. I have 2 screens ( main audio player ) with similar concept, but slightly different layout.
Any ideas on which one is better or more functional or what's missing ?
definitely the first is better
Check out my hopefully useful site...

It's still under design but it is functional
First looks way cool.
My Carputer! (More Car Pics at the end)
2 Kicker Comp 10"
Epia M-9000, 256 MB DDR, 120 Gig HD
Lilliput 7" VGA Touchscreen
Check it out?!
Ever think about displaying either a visual OR alblum art to save on space? Just a thought.
BTW I like the 1st one better myself..
Yes I thought about that. I'm still trying to get some balance between the functionality needed and simplicity though...Originally Posted by The Durango Kid
Don't look at the colors yes, just functionality. I'll have some color choices mid next week.
Thanks for feedbacks.
I mostly finished all screens I wanted. So I'm working on colors and overall style. Take a look...
Note that it is only colors and style, buttons and graphics will be added later next week.
Let me know what you think...
That looks great, major improvement from the first two, not that they were bad, this one is much better. Its a really good layout.
Installed

Check Out My Install!!!
I came up to the final design I want. If anyone cares, I can post it here fyi. Otherwise I'll post real snapshots next week.
I hope I'll have this extra stuff in there already:
- D-Link support with record function
- XM PCR with record function
- Removable media playlists support( so it will pull neede set of playlists when you insert media )
- Full touchscreen support
- EPIA-M HW DVD playback under linux
- Vis as bars
this might be a real newbie question, but what program do you use to make these interface with your carputer? or are these just skins for a program? either way they all look cool, im just really interested in doing something like this once i get my set-up completely working

This is the photoshop image. I'll divide it into pieces and make a skin from it. Then it is a matter of just drawing appropriate images at appropriate position based on user events. The source code for pycar is available on sourceforge, so you can see it yourself...Originally Posted by jaded_gti
