Very nice, I seee lot's of potential with this one. I hope you keep on trucking on this. I look forward to seeing more. I tried out the release and I had problems while playing video, I could not use the controls while the video played. Nice work so far, thanks

There is a known problem with 4:3 movies. I'll fix that along with some other things people reported.

Very nice, fast and a clean interface.

I see that you going to add XM support (I see the button clicks but does nothing) - if you do can you do something similar to TouchXM where the presets show the channel name and what is currently playing?

Whilst open source GPS would be nice, most people have purchased a commercial GPS product (I use Routis) so being able to link to external applications would be good.

Great work and nice to see a Linux implementation too.

Anyone interested in custom logos for PyCar ? Here is the example with Alfa Romeo.
They were taken from Febs skin for MediaCar. I assume it is his (c) on it.

Wtf, didn't even know this software existed till I saw it had its own forum. Looks really nice. I'll check it out in a few days when I get my new hard drive.

I'm having some trouble making the PyCar CVS work on Gentoo. I installed pygame with the patch and pymedia. After running 'python setup.py' in the 'carmedia' directory, I do 'python pycar.py', and I get a message about not having the method 'parser' in the object 'pymedia'. (I'm pretty sure..the computer in question is not plugged in at the moment).

I looked for the parser method in any of the packages/libraries installed, and couldn't find one. Is there a problem with the CVS source, or is there something stupid I'm missing?

Edited to add: I just wanted to say that I installed it on a windows pc I've got here and it rocks! I've got a book on python, maybe this will get me motivated to really learn it.

Sorry about CVS not being updated properly. Once I create Linux version next weekend, I'll fix that. Just wait 1 more week for that as my Linux testing is not yet complete.

Looks good, only thing is I can't play music with it. It craps out every time I try to play an mp3. The traceback message is as follows:

    Code:
    Traceback (most recent call last):
File "pycar.py", line 78, in bgExecutor
File "pycar\audio\aplaylist.pyc", line 309, in processFile
File "pycar\audio\aplaylist.pyc", line 254, in getFileParams
Error: Codec with id 0 cannot be found. libavformat is out of sync with libavcodec.
I'm using version pycar-1.2.3.0-pre1 on windows XP.
