Will there be a non-standalone release available, for those that want to install it on systems that are already set up?
Here is the link for an "unofficial" prerelease:
http://indashpc.org/downloads/softwa...ar-1.3.0.1.iso
This release is working only on EPIA-M platform with touchscreen monitor( 800x480 aka widescreen 16:9 7'' with Egalax TS ).
Just burn to a CD and boot your PC with it.
Some hints:
- Turn on caching if you see movie stalls or jerking. Set to 160 for 256M or 420 for 512M( Settings->Advanced->Cache size )
- If you see that your touchscreen is not adequate, go to Settings->General->Calibrate input and adjust the TS.
- Keyboard is supported. Active selection is always different from inactive items. You can use either arrows or tab to move to the next selection.
- If your monitro is not 16:9 just change the aspect ration in Settings->Video Settings->Aspect ratio
- After you make changes to the settings, restart the PyCar by pressing X icon in the main menu
- If you run PyCar from CD you won't be able to save your settings after you restart the PC

I will release PyCar, PyMedia, PyDfb in 3 weeks. There was a lots of changes so I have complete the whole bunch of tests first. All the changes are in CVS so you can take it right away, but please do not expect everything will work though.

Spiffy. I'll give the standalone release a shot towards the end of this week.
is it possible to make a bootable image for Athlon? I'd like to test it in a while...
It will work on Athlon just fine. The biggest problem is the drivers for mobo, soundcard, usb etc. So the simplest way is to compile drivers into kernel and just replacing the existing one in ISO.

Hm. Well, my system has no CD-ROM drive in it, so I tried making a bootable USB drive...it booted, but something got screwed up and it didn't work quite right. Ah well. Guess I'll wait for the non-live-CD release.
try using a program called alcohol 120% it will create a virtual cdrom drive where you can mount iso's on and they will work just like cd's
Ah, but the problem is I need to boot from the image. I can't very well do so if I've already booted into an OS to mount the image. (Plus, in Linux, mounting ISOs is incredibly simple if you have loopback filesystem support enabled in the kernel...mount the image just like any other filesystem! Looks like Alcohol 120% is a Windows app)
