Lightbulb Release: PyCar-1.3.0.2. Linux distro. 9Mb.

    Hi,
Just wanted to release the PyCar for touchscreen and EPIA-M platform.
    http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=86491
There are 2 ISOs. The one without f for Lilli, the f is for Xenarc and TSView or whatever noname TS monitors you may have.
    These features supported:
    Code:
    - mp3, ogg, wma, aac audio files playback
    - avi, mpg video files playback
    - cddb support
    - playlists support
    - settings
    - logos
    - splashscreens
    - EPIA-M only
These features still waiting for 1.3.1 release:
    Code:
    - autoinstal onto the HDD
    - video seeking
    - video playlists
These tricks may help you in having more fun with the release:
    Code:
    - Turn on caching if you see movie stalls or jerking. Set to 160 for 256M or 420 for 512M( Settings->Advanced->Cache size )
    - If you see that your touchscreen is not adequate, go to Settings->General->Adjust TS input and adjust the TS( flip x,y and calibrate )
    - Keyboard is supported. Active selection is always different from inactive items. You can use either arrows or tab to move to the next selection.
    - If your monitro is not 16:9 just change the aspect ration in Settings->Video Settings->Aspect ratio
    - After you make changes to the settings, restart the PyCar by pressing X icon in the main menu
    - If you run PyCar from CD you won't be able to save your settings after you restart the PC
    Have fun !

You're reading my mind. I was hoping to implement that for my home EPIA-M based media center.
After I optimize drawing stuff, I'll work on that. There will be a really cool skin with menus and stuff for home/IR usage.

Yeah, this will probably require some more hacking, espacially in code that handles keyboard part. I have been playing with PyCar a bit this morning and I found it very hard to controll with keyboard only Basically, some buttons are unreachable. I also found that time is actually very hard to read on small screens and yet the seconds indicator actually "moves" hours part when appearing. Anyway, who needs ":" to appear? make it gone

I hope PyCar will be able to handle IR changes in the skin action files only.
Current skin is not made for keyboard only control. I still have to add shortcuts for keyboard. If you have any "standard" keys in mind- let me know.

dont know... 4 arrows plus enter key for tabbed browsing navigation . IMHO all the buttons should be rachable by using arrows and executable by clicking Enter key. Saying this, all the submenust would also have to contain "BACK" button. By doing this, you would make happy most of remote control users (and keyboard/joystick/joypads/encoder users too! ), I believe. Other optinal keys (or better to say shortcut keys for main actions such as play, pause, stop, next,....) should be left configurable by user...
