Ah, Mandriva names libraries differently than ubuntu, so it's not loading the WindowManager properly in the GUI Thread. I'll fix that and post an update within the hour.

Edit: Upon checking, it seems I was wrong, the library names are the same. I'll look into it and let you know.

Hmm, which Ubuntu version are you using? I can try it on a virtualbox environment to see if I can spot something ...

it is confirmed to work with both 9.04 and 9.10

you piqued my interest... im downloading mandriva to give out a shot in a virtual box myself and see if I can figure out what is going on.

Alright, so I got Mandriva installed, however have not been able to get Qt to install correctly. There are no Qt-Phonon packages that I can find using urpmq... any suggestions?

I think you are looking for phonon-devel.

That is the KDE phonon package, but it does not include the headers that Qt uses like "phonon/phonon"

That's a good question. I am opening the qt4 src.rpm to see what happened to the includes. Hmm, for some reason unknown to me, use of local qt4 phonon headers are disabled by default. I am building a package locally with it enabled to test. I will ask some kde guy tomorrow to known why it is disabled.
    Thanks!

I'll compile Qt from source and get back to you tomorrow, that should solve it

Alright, I got Qt and RevFE compiled. It runs perfectly fine, I don't see the issue you are having :/

One thing I did notice, launching RevFE with the display command (Using DISPLAY=:0 as that's the only screen I had) caused some weird issues with stdio, but nothing compared to what you're experiencing. Why are you using that? You're running this application locally correct?
