    Soudproblem in RR

I have a problem with Roadrunner.
It is installed on both desktop pc and the cpc, the both have an onboard soundcard.
In the desktop i can select all exits of the sound such as: All lines, master volume, wave, sw-synthesizer, front, subwoofer, center, etc.
On the cpc: Alle lines, master volume.

At the radio section: desktop pc: disable, wave, front, cd-speler, etc
    Cpc: disable.

The soundcard works fine in windows, i can select everything, mute, change volume, you name it it works. But in RoadRunner its a different story

    The cpc specs:

    - mobo commell 673 ns http://www.commell.com.tw/Product/SB...#Specification
    - os: win 2000 prof.
    - Sound driver realtec on mobo: http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/p...=4& ProdID=42

    I have tried all the sound-drivers i could lay my hands on, tried winamp 2.95 ,5.14, 512, 524, 535.
RR 2006 until the last one i could get. I even tried copying the roadrunner from the desktop to the cpc.

Somhow Roadrunner doesn’t seem to see there is a soundcard on the pc. Is there a file were i can let roadrunner know there is a soundcard, and where to find it.

The simple solution would be to install a soundcard, but i don’t really have the space for is (see my install)

It should work the same way on both machines, but different sound cards do work differently -- since you already tried multiple sound card drivers, let me ask you this: are you by any chance running Windows Vista on your carpc ? cause that would be your problem right there.

If not, please add this to RR.INI:

    debugmode=true

then run RR and post the debug.txt it will create in RR's folder so I can look at it.

No, on both the desktop and cpc windows 2000 prof.
on the cpc i run servicepack 4 (driver soundcard needs it).
yesterday i have upgraded it to the latest win 2000 then the os is exactly as the desktop.
Startup is effected, it costs me 20 seconds extra ,
    But first the sound,

I' ll try the debug function and post it, thanks.

under the rr config you could try souncard = 1 or souncard =0, or even =2? have you tried that?

from this debug file it seems there's something wrong with your windows mixer.. it's like it's not present at all otherwise it should be displaying the information about the audio lines available (which are none right now).. I don't know what you'll have to do to fix it, but I can tell you that this is not a problem with RR. I'm pretty sure that re-installing windows and the drivers would solve it, but maybe you want to try something else first... if you doubt me, I would invite you to install some other front-end (i.e. MediaCar, MediaEngine, Frodo, etc) and see if it works. It's possible that if the front-end is DirectX based (StreetDeck, etc) it may work simply because it may handle the mixer differently through the DirectX interface.. but it wouldn't change the fact that there's something wrong.

The board already had a problem, no sound, send it back to the supplyer and got a new board. I also use a flashdisk, where for some reason win XP doesn't want to install, win 2000 doesn't make a problem off it.

The mixer does show and work in windows, but i'll format and reinstall.
