    anyone been successful with SKIPTO in flash skins?

    i'm tryin to use the skipto command in my new skin but it doesnt seem to do anything. The directory list stays in the same position even though commands like SETLIST work fine. Anyone have this working that can shed some light?

    does it work in a non-flash skin for you ? (it worked here in my non-flash test) I think CDR uses it in flash. Try using SELDL or SELPL before the command (according to the list you'd like to control).

    On a similar note,is there anyway that switchbutton will ever work in flash,i understand it works off the listed buttons in the skin file of normal skins but there aren't any of those in a flash skin.

    Really need a solution for that.(i'm a flash noob which doesn't help)

    works perfectly in non-flash skins. I'll try running seldl first.

    EDIT: I tried using SELDL before and GETDL after.. doesnt make a difference.. i'll see if CDr might shed some light.

    this is actually very easy... you just create a variable in flash and change that variable based on the number of times a button is pressed.. you can do it like so:

    Code:
    onSelfEvent (press) {
        if(_root.fghswitch=="0"){
            fscommand("SKIPTO;F");
            _root.fghswitch="1";
        }else if(_root.fghswitch=="1"){
            fscommand("SKIPTO;G");
            _root.fghswitch="2";
        }else if(_root.fghswitch=="2"){
            fscommand("SKIPTO;H");
            _root.fghswitch="0";
        }
        gotoAndStop(2);
    }
    of course you would want to put _root.fghswitch=0 on your onLoad() event on the scene

    Thanks Sonic,
    Mate you give me too much credit,EASY?Lmao

    I just started playing with flash at the end of last week,thanks to CdR's help i managed to edit HIS work to create a customized main menu for Freedom (remember me asking you about this a bit back?)

    And after that i made this but it really needs switch buttons to nav a large library.

    sorry mate i wasn't very clear,

    I was trying to add some ABC DEF type buttons but in addition to the ones you see there
    being a noob i tried this =

    on (press)
    {
    myColor = new Color(abc);
    myColor.setRGB(parseInt(_root.col));
    gotoAndPlay("/butsound:2");
    }

    on (releaseOutside, release)
    {
    getURL("fscommand:SKIPTO;#||SWITCHBUTTON;1>>SKIPTO ;A||SWITCHBUTTON;1>>SKIPTO;B||SWITCHBUTTON;1", "");
    }

    Not my code but no worky anyway.

    Cheers for the script,that helps me loads mate.

    so yea we're doing the exact same thing. the code i mentioned above replaces the need to use SWITCHBUTTON. My problem now is that thru my scripting normal navigational commands in rr dont have an effect on my directory list. I was gettin my playlist and dir list confused... my playlist works fine with the UP DOWN SKIPTO etc etc but the directory list doesnt respond to any of em. I'll find a way to get it working. But in the mean time just try the code i suggested.. may or may not work with your lists.... but if you can use the keyboard keys to navigate your list it should work.

    guino is there a label that specifies the number of items in the directory list? I see playlistcount but that doesnt work with directory lists. I'm thinking some sort of array loop will do the trick with my issue.

    I could add that label. Currently, you'd have to find that out by splitting the folder list array.
