HAve a search for a program called devcon (it may actually be included with the RR install) and it's usage.
In fact this is a nice thread I found for you

Hi,
I just noticed that the bluetooth port is disconected when hibernating, and when resuming, it is not reconected, so basicly I loose the GPS in RR / MapPoint as soon as I hibernate (and I use hibernation all the time).
So is there a way to connect the port again after resuming ?
I use BlueSoleil.
Greatful for help ..

Thanks Enforcer,
But actually I don't think that would help me.
As I could understand, Devcon simulates a device reconection in Windows, and that is not really what I need.
When resuming from Hibernation, the port in BlueSoleil is disconected, so I tried to reconect it, with RR and MapPopint still running in the background, and as soon as I reconected the port in BlueSoleil the GPS started working in MapPoint.
So, it's not the BlueTooth device I need to "reconect", but the PORT in BlueSoleil.

I don't have BlueSoleil installed on this machine, but I do remember setting something like this in the past. In the pulldown menu's, tools if I remember correctly, there is a auto connect to this device when in range type setting.

Sorry, I can't find it.
There is an option to automaticly connect when a windows program tries to open that port, THEN it connects as it should, and it connects as it should in BlueSoleil when RR starts. But when resuming from hibernation the port is disconected in BlueSoleil.
So, is there a way to make RR open up the port again (and thus reconect it automaticly in BlueSoleil) when resuming from sleep ??

Yea, that was what I remembered... sorry....
The only way I could think to do this is with a small VBscript that would open the port. This could then be run when RR starts. Looking at the AutoIt help file, I see no mention of opening com ports.
This is just a thought, and not even sure if it would work to activate the link or not.

Hmm, ok ..
Wierd thing nobody has come across this problem before. It doesn't feel that uncommon.

no it happens to me also only way I have got around it is to have usb hub mounted in a ashtray and I have to pull out the bluetooth usb and reconnect it for BlueSoleil to read the gps device...prob not the best way to do it but I am no programmer just a simple hack.
Have a look for a tool called XPort 3 - I use it to wake up my GPS port after hibernate. Since I have been using it the GPS receiver has been up every time by the Sat Nav software after coming back from hibernate.
You can also use this to give multiple programs access to the same COM port eg two sat nav programs access to one GPS receiver.
I take it that you then never even attempted to try this and see if it in fact doesn't work for you?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are accomplishing the same exact thing, execpt that you wouldn't have to remove the dongle.
I have used devcon in the past as a work around when I was using a PowerMate for my volume control. After returning from standby sometimes it wouldn't get reconized.
