You have to use a com splitter. When you setup your your usb gps unit, it makes a virtual com port. Only one program at a time can access this com port.
In order for more programs to access the gps data you have to use a com port splitter program .Do a search on xport3 in the gps forum.
Xport3 will permit you to split the gps com port to two or more virtual comports that will contain the same data as the original. You can then use these additional comports for each program individually.
