By this I presume you mean in RRConfig - so it points to the right directory.

The next step is to load up a playlist in Winamp. How you do that will depend on the skin you are using. If you're using the default skin (BMV2) that would require clicking on one of the "in box" looking icons (in the audio browser screen) depending on what music you wanted loaded.

I would say no, but if you don't, then you must come up with a custom solution. There have been threads on using Windows media player et al, but I never really followed them so I can't say how succesful the results were.

ok.. thats crap.. winamp is the base for road runners audio function.. its NEEDED.. there's no way around it unless u'd like to completely change the source code

I yield to your longer term exposure to the carputer... but what about the various threads for itunes, wmp, etc being put into RR?

ok its really simple. RR is based on winamp. its that easy. there are a number of lovely little extensions that have now been made like gas price finders and music search plugins (for winamp).... RR is based on winamp and its that easy. if you like WMP go try out frodoplayer. if you like itunes, use itunes cuz theres nothing for that. keep seraching and you will learn how to embed any app you want inside of RR. i think theres an FAQ on this....

I understand that Roadrunner's command structure uses Winamp, i.e., skin commands, the plug-ins mentioned, etc., etc. I use Winamp with no problems in the simple little RR skin I made for myself.

What I "thought" was that Roadrunner would still run without Winamp, and that if someone wanted to embed another audio player it was possible, albeit not optimal.

Sonicxtacy02's post disputes that, and I accept my limited exposure may have led me to a faulty conclusion (based on limited reading and inferences made in the WMP, itunes, etc. threads).

i know which thread your talking about and it mentions at some point changings rr's infrastructure so that it uses something other than winamp... but that would take MAJOR changes to about half of RR's programming. Winamp is needed.. RR will start with out but there would be no music function.
