    Go To Playlist number

    Does RR support "jump to a playlist number" natively - or do you have to use some external scripts to make it happen.

    I know LSXVOID has something like this, but the amount of external programming he has done is exterme - although very impressive.

    If not, could guino - or someone else with the necessary programming skills add code to RR to support WM_USER message 121 of the Winamp API .. which set's the current playlist position according to the value of "data".

    RetVal = SendMessage(hwndWinamp,WM_USER, data, id);

    Thanks - Valheru ...

    what you want is probably: "SELPL||SETLIST;<NUMBER>" like:

    "SELPL||SETLIST;10||PLAY" would make RR select the playlist (just in case there's more than one list in the screen), then select the 10th item, then execute the play command (playing it).

    Guino, is there a way to do this "behind the scenes"? Meaning, not to have to have the playlist visable on the screen. I have a couple of scripts now, that have to lleave the screen you are on, and load the playlist screen to get to the correct track in the playlist. Not having to go to that screen would be very nice indeed

    hi guino / JohnWPB...

    two more questions - if you have the time ...

    1. that last set of commands "SELPL||SETLIST;10||PLAY" would I put that in the skin or in the ExecTbl.ini file with the ONPLSELCLICK command ?

    2. how do I read an INI variable saved using the SAVETOSKIN command.

    Basically I'm trying to create a simple playlist resume function. As each song starts I save the playlist name and playlist position to the skin.ini file. And then when a playlist is loaded I want to automatically read the setting from the ini file. I have the first part working ... saving the name andposition, and with the command you mentioned here hopefullyI'll manage to get the second part finished ...

    thanks in advance ...

    1.You're probably better off putting that command in the button code for the skin...

    2.You can use a variable you saved before on any command using this syntax $VARNAME$.

    @JhonWPB: You can add the playlist to the screen without making it visible.. just copy the definition from the playlist you're using in the other screen and for X,Y set the values like -W and -H.. say your Playlist was:

    Sxx,200,300,400,500,.....

    Copy it to your screen like this:

    Sxx,-400,-500,400,500,.....

    You should have the playlist controls in the screen now, without it showing on the screen.

    Nice workaround... Why didn't I think of that?.... Thank You!

    hi guino ... can you explain the reading of INI variables a little more please. What is I haven't used a vairable in the program before - say immediately at startup - how do I do it then ?

    In my ExecTB files I have the following command
    "ONSONGSTART","setvarbycode;myvar1;playlist||setva rbycode;myvar2;plpos||savetoskin;$myvar1$;$myvar2$ "

    This adds a seperate line to the skin.ini file for every different playlist accessed. The line in the ini file would be like "PlayListName = PlayListPosition" .. eg "My Fav's=102".

    I have added this line to my playlist browser "SELECT||SELPL||SETLIST;9||Load;Audio_Player.skin| |PLAY", but when I load the playlist called "My Fav's" how do I have RR read the correct line in the skin.ini file to retrieve the correct value for it's last position - in this case 102 - bearing in mind that there will be multiple lines in the skin.ini file refering to different playlist names ? Is there a command like "loadfromskin" which operates the reverse of "savetoskin" ?

    thanks ...

    Try this:
    Code:
    "SELECT||SETVARBYCODE;PLNAME;PLAYLIST||SETVARBYCODE;LASPOS;=$PLNAME$||SELPL||SETLIST;$LASTPOS$||PLAY"
    You shouldn't need the LOAD;audio_player since SELECT already does that. Note that this may have unforseen effects if you use that button on files other than playlists.

    hi guino ... I tried that code but cannot seem to get it to work. I'll stay working with it to see if I can get anything from it.

    This is the line I have in my playlist browser ...

    B10,481,425,101,79,"SETVARBYCODE;MV1;PLAYLIST||SET VARBYCODE;MV2;=$MV1$||SELECT||SELPL||SETLIST;$MV2$ ||PLAY",""

    I also added an off-screen definition for the PL on the PL browser screen as you mentioned to JohnWPB - though it would help !

    One thing I did notice while playing around with it last night is that when it tries to read the value from the INI file it only reads part of it ... for example, the INI file hase a line "My Favourites=1023" but the value being used to read the INI file only had "My". I did try using single word names but still no joy. You might want to look at the code for reading INI variables though - but it just may be that you can't have INI variables with multiple workds in them ...

    Anyway .. like I said, I'll stay playing around with this code to see if I can get it to work as hoped.

    Thanks for your help ... Valheru.
