Blackberries aren't very good in this instance. There are no "services" in the phone. About the only thing I have found that you can do is go with something like a motorola IHF1000 outside the carputer. This gives you total handsfree, voice command dialing, speed dial, etc. They list from motorola for $300, but you can get them for a third of that price on some little known auction site (E-pay). Now something you CAN do with a blackberry is to load the desktop manager and then you can use it as an EDGE/GPRS modem!
If there is a way, I haven't found it.

I may have to do that...never thought about using it for that. I like the OP have been trying to find a way to control the bb from the carputer...but can't. I have a bluetooth headset for it, so I don't quite understand why the bluetooth through the carputer won't allow the same functionality.
I went with the Moto because I HATE wearing a headset, especially in the car, and since my Blackberry is work funded, I can't change phones. The control panel is small enough that I was able to hide it in a change holder, so the car still looks somewhat stock (Until I put in the Griffen KNOB from Hades). Now I am sure there is a way to implement the Moto into a carputer, but I haven't researched it. They make cables to tie it into a head unit to mute and stuff, so sure it could be done.
Here is how I hid the control panel.....

Hope that helps.
