Problem when editing a skin for RR

I took the default skin in RR, made a copy of it and started making changes to the menu screen.

i completely redid the main menu, saved it, and tested it in RR. it works great...however, when i go back in to update it in the skin editor, i am unable to select any of the objects on the display. i can select them via the tool bar on left, but not by selecting the object itself.

when i do select them, the properties are all messed up...pictured here...

    what am i doing wrong?

I'm guessing it has to do with the name you gave to the object... B-Vol_down.. try it with the Standard BXX format were XX is a number between 0 and 99... then if you want to keep a description to the object, use the tooltip space with quotes like "Vol_Down" or something.
