    CUSTOMCL doesnt seem to be populated by RR

    I'm in the midst of creating an emulator skin for my flash skin. I'm using custom lists that read from txt files that contain the name and path to the roms i have on my hard drive. I know how to use custom lists because i've used them on a non-flash skin in testing. i added the "C" to an existing directory list line (from my picviewer skin) so now it reads

    Code:
    /, S, x, y, w, h, forecolor R;RGB, G, B, backcolor R;RGB, G, B, selected color R;RGB, G, B, select color R;RGB, G, B, trs, font size;FONT, font name
    SC01,-1000,-1000,-1000,-1000,255,245,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,255,255,255,TRUE,19,"Arial Narrow:B"
    i have also added a CUSTOMCL label to my .skin file. My problem is CUSTOMCL doesnt seem to be populated when i run the CLLOAD command. Here is the command i'm running.

    Code:
    CLLOAD;C:\Program Files\Road Runner\Gameslists\nintendo.txt;true
    i can successfully populate a list using that command in my non-flash testing skin but using the EXACT same command in my flash skin leaves CUSTOMCL blank. I can tell that the CUSTOMCL label is working because in the _root. of my flash script i have _root.CUSTOMCL which by default displays "loading". After a second the "loading" goes away indicating its reading from the blank CUSTOMCL label.

    Does anyone else have CUSTOMCL working? Any advise here guino?

    CUSTOMXX labels are updated in Flash whenever RR detects change in the list (which is not a syncd thing with the CL commands).. I have just fixed an issue with this auto-detection update for CUSTOMCL, but if you want the variable to be populated immediately after a CLLOAD, simply run a "GETCL" from your flash script -- this one returns immediately with your CUSTOMCL already populated.

    i tried this command and get the same result

    Code:
    fscommand("CLCLEAR||CLLOAD;$RRPATH$Gameslists\\nintendo.txt;true||GETCL");
    i tried to use just a blank flash .swf with nothing but _root.CUSTOMCL to see if i get anything populated but nothing appears then as well. Tried passing the command to RR via exec.exe and again.. same result. The only way i can get CUSTOMCL to show me anything is if i use the SETLABEL command on it. Then it displays whatever i typed instantly (without GETCL command)

    while i'm on this mission i just wanna confirm the order in which the data needs to be listed in the .txt file

    my example is the following:
    C:\NES\mario.nes||mario

    in this example "C:\NES\mario.nes" is the actual data but "Mario" would be whats actually put in the list correct?

    1-GETCL, GETPL and any of the commands specific from flash MUST be sent out individually... try: fscommand("CLCLEAR||CLLOAD;$RRPATH$Gameslists\\nin tendo.txt;true"); fscommand("GETCL");

    2-On your example.. C:\NES\whatever is the TEXT (Data) and Mario is what gets DISPLAYED (Description) for that item in the list.

    Still no good. the CUSTOMCL variable is blank in flash. I've tried running GETCL as you suggested.. i even typed it in "GETCL" while rr was in focus to try it manually. The list stays blank. I also tried it this way... i edited the LAUNCH skin from BMV2 to change the directory list to a custom list... then added a transparent .swf of nothing but _root.CUSTOMCL on top of the skin. I run the exact code you suggested above and the list populates as it should but _root.CUSTOMCL is still blank. This is after adding a CUSTOMCL label to the skin file. There must be something wrong with the code.

    fscommand("GETCL") is probably working by itself but I'm thinking that by the time you execute it, RR hasn't completed execution of your CLLOAD command.. so that's why it isn't working.. I've fixed a bunch of things with this for next release.. I'll PM you a beta.
