IG4 routes cleared after switching menu

If I start a route in IG4, then switch to some other menu screen like music player or video player, my route got cleared after re-enter the GPS screen. Shouldn't the iGNative=true keep iG4 running?

I think this was discussed in the LSX Void thread. It's probably because cause by your screen limit being to low. Try raising the number so it will keep the GPS Skin in memory as you navigate further away. In RR Config, it's on the second page under the General tab.

Not sure, but I don't think the max windows is the problem here, that pertains to the skin's them selves, and not applications. I'm pretty sure on this, but not 100% positive.

It is also possible that you do not have the window name properly set up, and you are loading multiple instances of iG when you press your GPS button. Navigate away and to the GPS menu a couple of times and check the task manager to see if more than one iG is running in the background.

I had this problem way back when I first set up iG, and RR would load a new instance every time I went to the GPS screen.

For window Title in RRConfig check to see that it is set to "iGuidance" without the quotes.

i was the poster in the lsxvoid thread with this issue. i tried tons of different things like enabling/disabling ignative, autoswitch, and adding iguidance to the embedapplist. none of those worked. in the end it was the simple fact that the screen limit was too low, so when I went to 3 more screens after the gps one, the gps skin closed out and along with it went iguidance. that is why your route is disappearing. increase your skin limit and see what happens. also i tried adding the gps screen to the preload list to make it permanent, but i dont know if this actually works or not because i havent even tried visiting more than 12 other screens in between.

Awesome!! I monitored task manager and iGuidance was indeed killed after clicking on couple different menus. After increasing the screen limit to 10, now the GPS route is stable. Thanks so much for the solution!!

Just some FYI... preloading screens DOES NOT make them "permanent", it just preloads the graphics into memory so that when the fist time you go to that screen, it doesn't have to load it, just display it being that its already in mem...

thats what i was thinking. so how the heck do u prevent a screen from leaving memory. i know for a fact that the rrearth plugin closing out basically wrecks GE and you have to exit rr, kill ge, and then restart everything. big PITA.
