Here's my thoughts on functionality:
Hit a button to bring up a pop-up to sort the playlist by Artist, Album, or Genre.
After selecting the option, the current playlist will sort, but would not interrupt music playback and RR would retain the proper highlighted item.
Is that even possible?

That code's been around a while. I think B8bbi or Chuck wrote the original RRCode. Winamp itself supports sorting by title, filename, path and filename, Reverse list, and Randomize list. B8bbi created a sort by date script and Smartplaylists is great for searching your entire library by genre, title, and artist.
