    Another ipod/itunes question

    Hello!
I am a bit new to this forum and to Road Runner. Anyway I am looking to build a car PC and am looking for the best front end for my needs.

One of the biggest issues is that it needs to support my Mac/iTunes/iPod-based music collection in some way. Right now I see only two options with the easy one being to reformat my iPod to FAT32 and using the iPod support in RR/Winamp. The other way to do it would be to regularly sync (with scripts or whatever) my Mac based iTunes library to Winamp.

As the iPod is supposed to be supported by RR that seems like the smoothest way to go. I am hoever running into problems:
I cannot get it to work correctly with RR. It is recognized without problems by winamp and I can browse and play music but the best I have managed with RR is to get one list of tracks with the iPod typical ACXB.m4a track names. Selecting such a track plays it nicely though.
With various ID3 tag options enabled in RRconfig I have managed to get RR to show the --artist-- --album-- etc but when I select any of these they are empty.

The iPod itself is a 3G which I recently restored to FAT32 on a Windows system. I do all the music sync to it from a Mac though. I would say that 99% of all the music is NON-DRM AAC .m4a files (I also added .m4a to the list of media extensions in RRconfig).

I did of course search the forum but the only thing I came up with was "set the ipod drive" and "enable ID3". Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    /Erik

I am having the same problem with the new Classic but I did not think any older gen ipods were having the problem. I sent some info to guino and he was going to look at my problem, if it gets solved it will probably solve yours as well. Just be patient

I actually do own a 6G as well, but I decided to use the old 3G for exactly that reason.
